We're an inclusive early learning centre in the heart of Melbourne, built on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.

Located directly opposite Flinders Street Station and steps from Federation Square, we provide trusted childcare, ideal for city families.

You'll find our childcare centre opposite Flinders Street Station in the Five X building on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Flinders Street. We're purpose-built and designed for those working or living in the CBD.

Our centre has six rooms that cater to children from six weeks to five years - two nurseries, two toddler spaces, and two kindergarten classrooms - each led by passionate, qualified teachers.

We pride ourselves on building strong partnerships with families, providing regular updates via Storypark, and ensuring every child is supported and understood.

With a deep commitment to reconciliation, we were proud recipients of the 2024 Goodies Award for Advancing Reconciliation.

Through our philosophy, we aim to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive and become confident, capable learners. 
Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them. 
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators. 
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.  
At our Melbourne Flinders Street centre, we're proud to inspire your child's love of learning with the support of our passionate and qualified early childhood experts. Teachers with bachelor's degrees run our three and four-year-old kindergarten program, so children can be well on their way to excellent learning outcomes by the time they start school.

Hi, my name is Chelsea Snowden and I am the Centre Director of Goodstart Melbourne Flinders Street.

I have been in the Early Childhood profession for over ten years and hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.

I believe children are at the heart of everything we do, and we want to encourage each child to be strong, confident and independent beings to give them the best possible start in life. We celebrate culture and the diversity that we have in our Melbourne centre and welcome each family to our service. We create learning experiences that focus on the needs of each individual child, extend on their developmental milestones and encourage children to explore, engage and fulfil their dreams. Most of all, we want them to be happy, secure and become a part of the Flinders St community.

I am fortunate to lead a team of experienced, passionate and highly qualified early childhood educators who strive to have strong and genuine partnerships with our families and local community. The care and bond that the educators build with each child is evident in each learning space as you see the children’s voices and see them confident to make choices in their play. We look forward to meeting you and your children and working together to form a strong, long-lasting relationship through your child’s early years!

At Melbourne - Flinders Street, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our early learning centre offers a Government-funded kindergarten program and long day care under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.
