Nestled in peaceful park-like surroundings, our 3-room centre feels like a home-away-from home, conveniently located near Atwell Primary School and Cockburn Train Station for easy drop-offs and pick-ups.

Our nurturing, highly qualified team is dedicated to supporting each child's growth, focusing on their identity, self-esteem, and confidence. We empower children to feel worthy, resilient, and capable, helping them grow into strong, confident individuals.

At Goodstart Atwell, our philosophy centres around the belief that every child is a unique individual with their own interests and strengths. We embrace a play-based learning approach that nurtures curiosity and creativity, allowing children to explore their world in meaningful ways. 
We prioritise: 
1. Holistic Development: Supporting cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth through engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.

Through our philosophy, we aim to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive and become confident, capable learners. 
Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them. 
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators. 
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.  
At our Goodstart Atwell centre, we're proud to inspire your child's love of learning with the support of our passionate and qualified Early Childhood Teacher, Silvana. Silvana has a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and has been teaching for ten years, and she also has a bachelor's degree in psychology. Teachers with bachelor's degrees run our kindergarten program, so children can be well on their way to excellent learning outcomes by the time they start school.

Hi, my name is Tanya Daalmeyer and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Atwell.

I have worked with Goodstart Early Learning since starting my education journey in 2016 and hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Before becoming a Centre Director, I was an Educational Leader for 5 years and have a passion for children’s development and growth.

I believe that children learn best when they feel secure, trusted and respected in their environment. They love having the freedom of choice and autonomy to make decisions and direct their own learning.

My goal as Centre Director is to work collaboratively in partnership with families and the community to provide the best possible care, practice and education that will set your children up to thrive.

I do this by fostering and intentionally teaching educators to provide attuned and inclusive learning experiences and engage in meaningful interactions that scaffold your child’s interests, development, beliefs and individuality.

I endeavour to support and advocate for children, families and educators at Goodstart Atwell.

Structured Kindergarten Program

At Atwell, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our centre offers a kindergarten program and long day care under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.
