Welcome to Goodstart Early Learning Preston - Dalgety Street.

At Goodstart Preston Dalgety Street, our centre is dedicated to providing a nurturing and educational environment for children from six weeks to school aged.

We offer long daycare and kindergarten programs and our play-based learning programs are designed to promote:  

A child’s natural sense of enquiry
Literacy, numeracy and social skills
Creativity, problem solving and resilience

These are all critical skills needed for school and life. Quality play-based learning gives children hands-on exploration of the world around them.

We strongly believe in fostering safe, happy, warm, secure, and trusting relationship for children. It is a gift to be entrusted with the care of children and provide them with the best possible start in life. My goal as a Centre Director is to build long lasting trusting relationship with our families and educators and to ensure our service is homely and welcoming to all.
Our Key educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators.
Our purpose-built centre provides much-needed care for local families. Featuring six large and spacious learning spaces over two levels and a separate nursery sleep room, the centre provides a modern yet home-like naturally inspired environment.
All age-based learning spaces have direct access to our outdoor nature-based designed play space, with sensory gardens, pebbled creek beds, tee pees, pergola, digging patch, vegetable garden and two large sandpits. Our beautiful outdoor dining hub provides a dedicated space for meals with our onsite kitchen with child-height servery allows our cook to serve and engage our children in cooking and preparing meals.
Yes we offer a state approved funded kindergarten program.

My name is Roopal Shah, I am the centre Director at Goodstart Preston-Dalgety Street.

Welcome to Goodstart Preston - Dalgety Street!

My name is Rupal Shah, and I have the honour of leading our supportive and diverse community here in Goodstart Preston - Dalgety Street, on the land of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people. With 10+ years of experience in early childhood education and care, I'm deeply passionate about creating an environment where every child can thrive and discover their unique potential.

My background

I began my journey studying my diploma while running a room, which ignited my passion for early learning. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to support 2 difference centres achieve exceeding ratings as an Educational Leader while supporting environmental uplift.

My early childhood philosophy

I believe in fostering safe, happy, warm, secure, and trusting relationship for children. For me, it's all about building long lasting, trusting relationship with our families and educators and to ensure our service is homely and welcoming to all.

Government Funded Kindergarten Program

At Preston - Dalgety Street, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our early learning centre offers a Government-funded kindergarten program and long day care under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.
