Thank you for visiting our website. We’re so glad you’re here!
At the moment, our Early Learning Centre is temporarily closed due to unforeseen circumstances. While we are not currently operating, we’re working hard behind the scenes to make some important improvements and will be reopening soon for tours for new enrolments in 2026.
We’re excited about what’s to come and can’t wait to welcome new families when we reopen. In the meantime, feel free to explore our website to learn more about our philosophy, programs, and what makes our Goodstart Early Learning so special.

About Our Centre
Our vision is to create a nurturing and inclusive community where every child is inspired to explore, learn, and grow. We are dedicated to fostering a love of learning through play, supporting the development of each child's unique potential, and building strong partnerships with families and the community.
At Goodstart Flemington we offer long daycare and kindergarten programs, and our play-based learning programs are designed to promote:

We are a purpose-built centre, with dedicated indoor and outdoor learning facilities which caters to each age group. We have a Bush Tucker Garden, Native Indigenous Garden, Bee Pollinator Garden and a thriving Chicken Coup to support children not only learn about the world in which they live but also develop environmental and sustainable world knowledge.

We work closely with parents to ensure the individual needs, interests and strengths of the children are considered, developing learning goals to reflect the same. Centre Director
Hello, My name is Mousumi Chowdhury (Sumi) and I am the centre director at Goodstart Flemington.
I have been working in this for just over 14 years. I have worked across numerous age groups, as an assistant and room leader and developed myself As an ECT in the Kinder room. I have also worked as an Educational Leader since 2021 and assisted my team to deliver high quality program where every child thrives for success.
As the Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning Flemington, my personal philosophy is rooted in a deep commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can thrive. I believe that the foundation of effective early childhood education lies in the following principles:
1. Child-Centered Approach: I view each child as a unique individual with their own interests, strengths, and potential. It is my responsibility to create an environment that is responsive to their needs and encourages their curiosity and creativity.
2. Empowerment through Relationships: I am passionate about building strong, trusting relationships with both children and families. I believe that when children feel safe and secure, they are more willing to explore and learn. Engaging with families as partners in their child's education enhances the learning experience and supports a sense of community.
3. Quality and Continuous Improvement: High-quality early childhood education is essential for children's development. I am dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence within our centre, encouraging staff collaboration and professional growth. By reflecting on our practices and seeking feedback, we can continually improve our programs and the experiences we offer.
4. Play as the Heart of Learning: I believe that play is fundamental to children's learning and development. I advocate for providing rich, engaging, and stimulating environments where children can explore, experiment, and develop critical thinking skills through play.
5. Diversity and Inclusion: I am committed to embracing diversity in all its forms and ensuring that our centre is a welcoming space for all families. By valuing different cultures, perspectives, and abilities, we create a richer learning environment that benefits everyone.

In my role as Centre Director, I am dedicated to leading by example, promoting a positive, collaborative atmosphere that encourages everyone to contribute to our vision of high-quality early childhood education. Together, we can support every child's journey towards lifelong learning and success.

After moving house and having looked at many childcare centres I came across Goodstart Flemington and haven't looked back. The staff here are all welcoming, warm and professional. Many have completed postgraduate studies and it shows in their superior approach to care and education. Since attending this childcare my son has improved immensely in all areas of his development and I couldn't be more grateful. The centre is so well setup with three extra large outdoor play areas, lots of play equipment a veggie patch, even a chicken coop! They provide a variety of nutritious meals, all cooked each day from scratch. The kids love it!. My son never comes home hungry. There are frequent incursions, excursions, daily photos, informal and formal parent/teacher discussions and even annual visits from a dental service. The educators in my son's room have gone above and beyond in supporting him develop. The best part is he loves going to there to see them and his friends. He often hurries me up to go!. Well done to the entire Goodstart team. We are so glad to have found this amazing place.
Wonderful Experience at Good Start Flemington Kindergarten Our experience at Good Start Flemington Kindergarten has been nothing short of amazing. The staff are incredibly caring, attentive, and genuinely invested in each child’s development. Our daughter, Aadhini, has thrived in this nurturing environment, and we’ve seen her grow in confidence, social skills, and academic readiness. The team consistently posts all the activities and meals provided to the children on the Storypark app, which is wonderful. A special thank you to Basudha, Simon, Leena, and Vanshika for their dedication and care. The team at Good Start creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it a place where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn every day. The activities are thoughtfully designed to engage the children and help them learn through play. Communication with parents is excellent, keeping us informed and involved in our child's progress. We’re sad to leave due to relocation but will always be grateful for the wonderful care and education received here. We highly recommend Good Start Flemington Kindergarten to any parent looking for a supportive and enriching early learning environment.
Goodstart Flemington is the first day care my daughter went to in Australia and I am so very grateful that we found it. She loved going to the center everyday as the staff were all so welcoming and took great care of her. Priyanka, Neeraja and the rest of the staff are doing a great job at managing the center and providing exceptional care for the kids, who all always seem very happy. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to start the day care journey for their kids.
This is the first kinder in Australia for my daughter and I absolutely happy that I found them. Every single staff is super supportive and encouraging. I felt like we had a family here. Starting from the center director Priyanka, Admin Chole, my daughters' teachers Simon and Vamshika, Niranjana and all other staffs are super friendly and approachable. Starting from updating us on the child behaviors to any single detail of payments, holiday discounts, other sessions that happen in school, they make sure to update the parents. I highly recommend anyone to choose good start Flemington Kinder without any second thoughts.
