Where learning, care and community come together on Wurundjeri land.

Located in Mernda’s Renaissance Rise estate, our service offers flexible kindergarten options tailored to the rhythms of modern family life.

From free sessional kinder to long day care and options in between, our Exceeding-rated early learning centre is here to help your child thrive while supporting your schedule.

How it works:

We offer flexible enrolment options – here are just three examples of how families can make the most of our unique format.

1. Free sessional kinder (2 days)

Attend two set days (e.g. Mon & Tues or Thurs & Fri) from 8:15am–3:45pm with no out-of-pocket cost. Meals are provided – a rare benefit in sessional kindergarten!

2. Mixed model (2 sessional + 2-3 long day care days)

Perfect for hybrid work schedules – use your two free sessional days when working from home and add long day care days (CCS-subsidised) for the office days.

3. Long day care kindergarten (Up to full-time)

Enrol in our approved kindergarten program, which offers full-day hours across the week. Kinder funding is included, and you only pay for wrap-around care with CCS support.

At Jindi Kindergarten and Extended Care, our philosophy centres around the belief that every child is a unique individual with their own interests and strengths. We embrace a play-based learning approach that nurtures curiosity and creativity, allowing children to explore their world in meaningful ways. 
We prioritise: 
1. Holistic Development: Supporting cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth through engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.

Through our philosophy, we aim to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive and become confident, capable learners. 
Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them. 
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators. 
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.  
At our Jindi Kindergarten and Extended Care centre, we're proud to inspire your child's love of learning with the support of our passionate and qualified early childhood experts. Teachers with bachelor's degrees run our three and four-year-old kindergarten program, so children can be well on their way to excellent learning outcomes by the time they start school. 
We work closely with parents to ensure the individual needs, interests and strengths of children are considered, and our learning goals reflect them. Using Storypark, a wonderful communication platform, we stay in close touch with families and ensure you're well informed about your child's development and achievements.

Hi, I’m Nicole Tesch and I’m the Centre Director here at Goodstart Jindi Kindergarten and Extended Care.

I have been a Centre Director at Goodstart since January 2003. I hold an advanced Diploma of Children’s Services and Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment, and I take great joy and satisfaction in overseeing the educational programs and care at Goodstart Jindi. I have been in the Early Childhood industry for over 25 years and I have worked with children from birth to 12 years in a range of services in Australia, both private and not for profit.

I strongly believe that a holistic approach helps each child reach their potential. All children have the right to early childhood education, and this should be positive as it establishes their attitude for learning for their whole life. What I love most about our community is the people. I’m really excited to work as part of a hub where we can focus on working together to support all children and families holistically. When I’m not in the centre, you’ll find me spending time with family and friends.

Government Funded Kindergarten Program

At Jindi Kindergarten and Extended Care, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our early learning centre offers a Government-funded kindergarten program and long day care under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.
