Welcome to Goodstart Early Learning Hughesdale

We play and learn on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples.

We pride ourselves on our multicultural community, which includes children, families, and educators from over 33 countries, and we celebrate a wide range of cultures and traditions.

We regularly invite parents and grandparents into the centre for show-and-tell, as we value building community and connection and sharing our family's stories.

If your child loves outdoor learning and play, they'll love our open space and playground at the back of our centre, a hidden gem behind the main building.

In addition to the wonderful Luda, who has been running our outstanding 4-year-old kinder program for the past 18 years, we also offer a bilingual kinder program in Mandarin.
Most of our team has been working together for over 10 years. We've worked so well together that we can now master and perfect our practice. We hold ourselves and each other to a very high standard. We stand by our approach to nurturing curious and confident learners.
Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote Key Educator relationships between our educators and children.

Your child will have at least one Key Educator who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them. We keep families informed with regular updates on their child's progress and we welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.

Loreto Astorga

Centre Director

Hi, I’m Loreto Astorga and I’m the Centre Director here at Goodstart Hugesdale.

I hold a Diploma in Children’s Services and have been with Goodstart for eight years. During these years, I have been able to take on different roles and work with children different age groups allowing me to gain an extensive knowledge in different areas.

What I love about Childhood Education is that no two children are the same. They all grow and learn in their own individual way. I strongly believe that your child’s first experiences in early childhood education should be positive as it establishes their attitude for learning for their whole life.

Providing high quality care and education as well as maintaining a safe and healthy environment not only for children, but their families and educators are my main priority.

When I am not in the centre, you will find me spending time with my family, most likely watching movies, visiting our local park or at the beach.
