At Goodstart Kelso – Riverway Drive, our philosophy centres around the belief that every child is a unique individual with their own interests and strengths. We embrace a play-based learning approach that nurtures curiosity and creativity, allowing children to explore their world in meaningful ways. 
We prioritise:

Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them. 
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators. 
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.

My name is Andrea and I have been in Townsville since 2006, and working with families and children for over 20 years.

I hold my Diploma in Children’s Services, as well as a Bachelor of Psychology with a special interest in children’s development and human behaviour. I have had a variety of roles in the childcare industry including Lead Educator, Educational Leader, Assistant Director, and currently as a part of my passion for keeping children safe, I am a Child Safety Advocate as well as my Centre Director role.

I believe that every child deserves the best start in life we can possibly give them, regardless of background, through genuine nurturing and care while providing a quality education through rich, safe and positive learning environments.

I am proud to lead a team of professional, dedicated Educators who genuinely value being such an important part of each child’s learning while building those essential relationships with families. My goal is to ensure their child’s time here at Goodstart Kelso is happy and safe and will be remembered as a cherished and memorable part of their childhood.

At Kelso - Riverway Drive, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our centre offers a kindergarten program and long day care under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.
