Townsville teacher's tips on regional work and living
Early childhood teacher Kylie Ryan of Goodstart Kirwan Golf Links Drive shares her insights.
Here at Goodstart Mooroolbark we believe children, families and our wider community are our primary partners. We understand children are born ready to learn and we acknowledge the high importance placed on children’s development in the first 5 years, as every new experience, each moment of discovery helps shape who they are and who they’ll become.
The centre is licenced for 75 children in four rooms, Nursery, Toddler, Pre Kinder and Kinder. Educators and Teachers within each room follow the Early Years Learning Framework, the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and embed these practice and principles in the framework every day. Most of the educators in this centre have been here for 10 plus years.
Our Kindergarten Room is run by a qualified Kindergarten Teacher, holding her Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. The Kindergarten program is funded and developed to provide positive learning opportunities for your child to develop a range of skills to prepare them for their transition into the Primary School environment. We also have two more Qualified Kindergarten Teachers on site. One running our Pre-Kinder room and the other one floating between the Pre-Kinder and Kinder room.
Through Key educator relationship practices our teams strive to build strong and positive relationships with both children and families and really make the effort to get to know each one of our families and embed their cultural beliefs and values into our programs.
We provide all meals at the service and they are cooked and prepared on the premises by a Qualified Chef. Our menu is seasonal, is built around highly nutritious foods, Cultural Diversity and input from the children and families. The centre provides all meals during the day, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.
Here at Goodstart Mooroolbark we understand the journey is unique for each child and therefore we place a high value on enabling children to reach their full potential and embrace a love for learning for the future.
We can’t wait to meet you and your child/children and show you around our centre.
