We're your home away from home on Bunurong country, providing nurturing long day care and education for children in Carrum Downs.

We have six early learning spaces: two nurseries for babies up to 12 months, two toddler rooms for adventurous explorers aged 2-3, and two classrooms for three- and four-year-old kindergarten.

From nursery to kindergarten, we aim to provide a learning environment that supports and nurtures each child's unique needs, interests, and strengths.

Our enriching programs, based on the Victorian Early Years Learning and Develpment Framework, include incursions from Banyan Fields Primary School, music sessions, and the dentist.

We plan weekly aged care visits and trips to the primary school through a buddy program. We also take excursions to our local library, Bunnings, and a swimming program for four-year-old kinder children. 

Our people love to give back, and we encourage families to donate clothes, shoes, books, toys, and bibs that they don't use. And they can access our community wardrobe, which we stock with donations, for a circular economy.

We have a community pantry for new groceries, nappies, and wipes and a community library, where we rotate the books each week. When we have leftover meals, we give them to our families through a community noticeboard.

At Goodstart Carrum Downs – Frankston-Dandenong Road, our philosophy centres around the belief that every child is a unique individual with their own interests and strengths. Through our philosophy, we aim to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive and become confident, capable learners. 
Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them. 
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators. 
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.

We have been at Goodstart Carrum Downs – Frankston-Dandenong Road since 2022, with our second child recently starting. We have been so incredibly lucky to have found a childcare centre where both children feel so comfortable and surrounded by genuine care. The educators have become a part of our “village”, and it is evident how much they enjoy their time with the children, going above and beyond to ensure they are thriving. Hi, my Name is Yovana and I am the Centre Director for Goodstart Carrum Downs - Frankston-Dandenong Road.

Since 2008, when I moved from Mauritius, I have been working in the Early Childhood industry. I have my Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services and bring in a wealth of knowledge to support the children, families, and Educators.

I have grown my career and had been involved in many different roles in the centre environment. My passion and vision is what motivates me to continuously improve. I believe that all children should have access to a high quality early education to ensure the fundamentals are laid for their life of learning.

My vision is to ensure that all families and children are supported and feel safe, secure, and supported while at Goodstart. As a mum myself, I understand the importance of finding that perfect place for your little one - one that inspires and is respectful, fun, and supportive.

I look forward working with you and your family, along with my wonderful team of highly educated and passionate Educators and to see how we can get started on this learning journey together.

Government Funded Kindergarten Program

At Carrum Downs - Frankston Dandenong Road, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our early learning centre offers a Government-funded kindergarten program and long day care under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.
