Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre in Mount Gambier is located in a safe and secure pocket of our community, close to main roads and shops as well as local schools - making the daily drop-off and pick-up much simpler and stress free for busy families.
We aim to provide a homely atmosphere for the children and to provide natural and inviting place spaces for children of all ages.
At Goodstart Mount Gambier, we view children as capable and competent learners, enabling them to make decisions around the structure of their days, and encourage their independence from an early age.
Our play based, stimulating curriculum is based on the Early Years’ Learning Framework and our rooms – from Nursery to Preschool – are all geared with this in mind. We also develop colourful, engaging programs accounting for each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths; and with each step we are ensuring the children are ready to take the big step into schooling.
One of the many attractive features of our centre is the number of shade structures we have in our outside yards. We have carefully designed and planned spaces to encourage a stronger understanding of the environment and sustainability – while giving children the scope to explore, play and let their imaginations roam.

Through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.

Where do I even begin to thank you all after 5 years of the best possible care for my son I could've ever wished for? He began at Goodstart when he was 8 months old. I remember so vividly dropping him off that day, laden with guilt, and bursting into tears when I got into my car. Today, after I dropped him off for his final day at Goodstart I also was teary eyed by the time I got back to the car. Today it was not tears of guilt, but tears of immense gratitude for each and every staff member that has been such an important part of our little guy's well-being and development from babyhood to boyhood. And, tears we are leaving a family. It was also tears of grief at the realisation that he is indeed no longer a baby but a resilient, clever, friendly, happy boy who is so prepared and well equipped to be going to school next year and he is who he is because of the fantastic, professional, loving care of your staff. Enrolling him at Goodstart was the best choice I could have made. I knew each day that I was leaving him in the best care, where every need was meet and he was treated with compassion, integrity and respect from day one. His educators have always cheerfully greet him, and us, each and drop off and pick up. No problem or milestone has been too big or small for them to graciously deal with.

Hi, my name is Mardi and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Mount Gambier.
I have worked in the early learning sector for more than 25 years in a variety of roles. Prior to joining Goodstart in 2015 I worked as an Inclusion Support Facilitator.
The first five years is such an important time for children, there is so much learning acquired during this time and it is our role as educators to work in partnership with parents to provide every child with rich play-based learning opportunities to explore, practice new skills and become confident learners.
I have a strong belief in the importance and value of high quality early learning, and together with our dedicated team of professional, experienced educators and teachers we strive to provide this at Goodstart Mount Gambier for our children and families.
