Townsville teacher's tips on regional work and living
Early childhood teacher Kylie Ryan of Goodstart Kirwan Golf Links Drive shares her insights.
Goodstart Early Learning Woodford is nestled in the heart of Woodford township, surrounded by a peaceful rural setting and conveniently located near local schools, shops, and residential estates.
We are proud to be an integral part of the community, providing high-quality care and education for children from 6 weeks of age. At Goodstart Woodford, we are fortunate to have a dedicated team of long-standing educators who are passionate about creating a welcoming, nurturing environment.
Our educators are committed to providing individualised care and fostering a strong sense of belonging for every child. With our Kindergarten-funded program that is delivered by Early Childhood Teachers with over 10 years’ experience in delivering Kindergarten programs, we have established strong partnerships with local schools to ensure a smooth transition for children as they prepare for their next educational journey.
Our learning spaces are thoughtfully designed in alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework, offering a rich blend of sensory and play-based learning experiences. The colourful and stimulating environments encourage children to explore, engage, and develop important skills that prepare them for school and life beyond. We emphasise the holistic development of each child, focusing on their social, emotional, and cognitive growth to ensure they are ready for the exciting challenges ahead.
At Goodstart Woodford, we believe communication with families is key to creating an enriching learning experience. Through our Storypark platform, regular family nights, and regularly emailed newsletters, we keep parents informed and involved in their child’s development.
Our educators tailor programs to meet each child’s individual needs, interests, and strengths while celebrating the rich cultural diversity within our centre.
Our expansive outdoor areas, which include four spacious natural yards filled with beautiful gardens and trees, provide children with opportunities to explore and learn about sustainability in a hands-on way. These age-appropriate play spaces are equipped with a variety of resources designed to engage children in imaginative play and help them develop an awareness of their surroundings and the wider environment. Additionally, we offer fun and educational activities such as creative arts, cultural events, and festive celebrations. We also invite the local community to engage with the children through monthly visits from the library, police, and fire brigade, further enriching the children’s learning experiences.
Our highly qualified educators are dedicated to ensuring that all children not only enjoy their time at the centre but are also ready to engage in meaningful learning experiences. We foster an open-door policy, encouraging families to be actively involved in their child’s learning journey.
At Woodford, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our centre offers a kindergarten program and long day care under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.
