Townsville teacher's tips on regional work and living
Early childhood teacher Kylie Ryan of Goodstart Kirwan Golf Links Drive shares her insights.
I have been in the child care and early learning sector since 1996 and have worked my way through various roles including casual assistant, centre floater, assistant and group leader, before accepting the position of Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning Rural View in January 2007.
Throughout this time I have studied, gaining a Certificate III in Children's Services, a Diploma and an Advanced Diploma's of Children's Services. I am currently studying my Bachelor of Education with a major in Early Childhood. I love every single day of my job and the experiences it has given me.
I love supporting the families and children of the centre as they discover each new, fun and exciting day with us. For me, that's what this role is all about. We have such a great responsibility to give these children the highest standard of early education and in doing so, we need to ensure parents have peace of mind.
We nurture a culture of support, diversity, acceptance and tolerance, as well as cementing the principles of sustainability.
I am fortunate to work with a highly qualified and experienced team, whose passion for the industry and their roles therein is matched by a commitment to giving the children the highest quality learning experiences.
I look forward to welcoming you and your family and discussing how we can support you and your child on the pathway to lifelong learning.
