Townsville teacher's tips on regional work and living

Goodstart Pullenvale
Goodstart Pullenvale is located in a semi-rural, tranquil environment off Moggill Road across from the CSIRO in Bainbridge Drive in the Woodcrest Estate. Goodstart has been a part of the community for over 15 years and has a strong connection with the community in the area.
Our centre caters for children from 6 weeks through to 5 years of age. We offer a bright and energetic atmosphere with educators who are dedicated to the care and development of young children.
All our educators are fully qualified with a Certificate III or Diploma of Early Childhood Education and many are continuing with their studies so that we can continue to offer an innovative high quality program to the children in our care. Many of our wonderful educators have been at the centre for many years, some up to 10 years. This allows us to provide a stable learning environment and build strong and lasting relationships with families. Our educators strive to exceed your expectations in the care and education of your child and understand the importance of finding a childcare centre you like and trust.
Our environments promote children’s choice through a range of age appropriate resources. Each room has defined areas that promote growth and development for the first 5 years of life. Our outdoor space offers a large area for gross motor development, socialisation and opportunities for moments of solitude with the leafy outlook.
We have a full funded Kindergarten Program that is developed using the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines by our wonderful Bachelor qualified teacher Jules and Nicola. These ladies create a school ready program that allows the children to develop over the course of the year through play to be ready to take the next step of life and begin their schooling years.
We enjoy communicating with our families and keep them up-to-date with frequent emails and newsletters as well as face to face conversations with each and every family on a regular basis. We have Storypark which is an online platform for the families to be able to see daily activities and routines. Each room has an iPad to be able to capture the daily moments throughout the classrooms and write what the children have achieved or attempted to achieve through the day. The online platform allows Educators and families to have private conversations and keeps families up to date with in centre information

Hi, I’m Kirsty and I’m the Centre Director here at Goodstart Pullenvale.
I have been with Goodstart since 2012.
I have a wealth of experience in all aspects of Leadership and mentoring my teams, past and present to ensure quality practices and relationships are maintained, assisting my service in raising quality, which has been successful.
I have Two children of my own, so we love to explore different parks and navigate different fishing locations, and I also love to paint.
My Early Learning values:
I strongly believe that your child should feel comfortable in their learning environment with Educators forming the strong connections for children to want to explore their world. Children are central to everything we do and spending time with them through their learning and growth, brings me joy. All children have the right o feel included and have a network to support them through their life journey.

Our community is advancing. Making connections with our local schools and wider community to provide the children with a sense of belonging.
