Townsville teacher's tips on regional work and living
Early childhood teacher Kylie Ryan of Goodstart Kirwan Golf Links Drive shares her insights.
At Goodstart Early Learning Forest Lake, we're passionate about giving your child a nurturing and enriching start. Conveniently located opposite Grand Avenue State School, and a short walk to the bus stop, Forest Lake Village, Forest Lake College, and Forest Lake State School. Our center offers off-street parking for easy drop-offs, with accessibility access via the ramp.
Your child's safety is key, which is why our center features pin pad entry. Inside, every room, from Nursery to Kindergarten, follows the Early Years Learning Framework and our Kindergarten follows the Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines. Our centre offers colourful, stimulating, and play-based learning opportunities designed to prepare your child for school and life. We create a circle of security, which allows your child to find a secure and safe connection to their educators.
Our team of friendly, caring, and highly qualified educators is committed to providing the highest standard of care. We develop tailored programs for each age group, ensuring a positive and engaging environment where children can explore and develop. We keep in close contact with families via Storypark and newsletters, allowing us to personalise programs to each child's unique needs and celebrate our centre’s rich cultural diversity.
Our incredible age-appropriate outdoor play spaces are designed to spark curiosity and teach the importance of sustainability. Our four expansive yards are a wonderland with sandpits, climbing frames, slides, bikes and growing gardens – all with plenty of shade!
We take pride in our bright, educational rooms, all with air conditioning and modern facilities for your child's comfort. Community is vital to us; through incursions, excursions, and in centre events, we enrich learning and teach children about being active community members. Daily art and music experiences encourage creative expression for all the children.
We warmly welcome new families! Please stop by; we'd love to explore how we can support your child's lifelong learning journey.
As Centre Director, I bring a wealth of knowledge and genuine dedication to our childcare centre. Holding a Bachelor of Education with a specialisation in Early Childhood Education, I've been privileged to work in this vital sector for the past nine years. My passion for early learning has only deepened through raising my own two wonderful children. This personal experience has truly strengthened my commitment to ensuring a safe and welcoming space where all children can thrive.
I firmly believe that the first five years are crucial in shaping a child's life, and it's an honour to be part of their journey during this formative time. At our centre, you'll find a team that mirrors this dedication. They are warm, welcoming, passionate, and wholeheartedly supportive of every child in our care.”
