Goodstart Plumpton
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Plumpton is located in a quiet, little pocket of suburbia close to schools and shops.
Our purpose-built centre focuses on age-appropriate education and school readiness. We believe children learn through play and in an environment which is safe and nurturing.
Our play based, stimulating curriculum is based on the Early Years’ Learning Framework and our rooms – from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool – are all geared with this in mind. We also develop colourful, engaging programs accounting for each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths; and with each step we are ensuring the children are ready to take the big step into schooling.
This is made simpler through our intuitive Storypark platform, which enables us to maintain consistent and clear communications with families. That means we are better placed to support a child in their learning journey, ensure parents have peace of mind, and time stamp the children’s developments, milestones and achievements.
Outside, our playground areas are a balance of natural and manmade elements and play surfaces – with vege patches, chicken coop, fort, water tank, mud kitchen, bark pits and lots of shade. We have carefully designed and planned spaces to encourage a stronger understanding of the environment and sustainability – while giving children the scope to explore, play and let their imaginations roam.
We have a qualified cook who cooks fresh, healthy and nutritious meals for the children each day. The centre provides all meals during the day, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.
Community is also important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience. Art and music experiences are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity.

Hi im Karen, i'm the Centre Director here at Goodstart Plumpton.
I have worked in the child care profession all my adult life, Since qualified, I have worked in childcare in both Uk and Australia. I believe that as a childcare professional we are in a privileged position to support children on their individual learning journey.
I have been fortunate to attend a study tour to Reggio Emilia, Italy which highlighted for me how important meaningful interactions are to support children develop a sense of self, curiosity and passion for discovery and learning. I believe that our daily interaction and experiences are the building blocks of our leaning, and the importance of fostering children’s sense of belonging and learning as part of a community.
I have been privileged to work with children and families in a range of socio-economic backgrounds, and believe that all children deserve the opportunity to experience and have access to the best quality learning environments and experiences possible. I strive to ensure that all our families are made welcome as an extension of our community.
We have an open-door policy at Plumpton, and we believe that to work in collaboration with our families is integral to children successful learning and growth.
