Goodstart Cooranbong

Goodstart Cooranbong is located in the city of Lake Macquarie, west of Morisset. 

We educate and care for children twelve months to six years old across two indoor learning environments and one outdoor learning environment. Our Centre is a 39-a-day place Centre. 

At Goodstart Cooranbong we believe that children learn through play and in environments that are supported holistically and that are rich in choice. Our indoor and outdoor environments are designed with a focus of children to have choice and control, with a range of play spaces available for children to learn, investigate, collaborate and discover. Children have the choice to play inside and outside for majority of the day which supports them to be independent, develop respect and have ownership of their learning & play. At Cooranbong, we make emphasis that we are a ‘child-led’ Centre, truly support individualised ways children learn and wish to extend on their play. 

Our indoor environments are made up of inspiring & inviting learning areas, specifically age appropriate for the children in each room. Our outdoor environment promotes investigating, risky play and imaginary play spaces to encourage children to create a world of wonder. Educators collaborate with children to explore risk in the outdoor environment. 

Our learning curriculum and long-term goals cater for all children and each stage of development. Our curriculum is centred around the Early Years Learning Framework & goals are set based around children’s unique learning styles, interests and developmental stage. Our children participate in special events throughout the year including events such as Mothers/Fathers day, Clean up Australia day, NAIDOC Week, National first responder’s week, Inclusion Week and much more. Our children also attend regular outings of the Centre- particularly our Preschool aged children who regularly attend the local primary school and participate in our Busy Kindy program outside of the Centre. 

Our team at Goodstart Cooranbong are highly experienced and qualified- we have University qualified Early Childhood teachers, Diploma and Certificate 3 trained Educators and Trainee Educators across the Centre. Our Educators all have unique qualities & passions they bring to our team that facilitates the education and care of young people in our Centre.

Inclusivity for all children is something we are so proud to say we do so well at here at Cooranbong. We ensure environments are set up for all children to regulate and be comfortable in and we work alongside allied health professionals & families for the best possible outcomes for children. 

• Social community connections 

Our Centre has built meaningful relationships with stakeholders throughout our community. We create great emphasis on our relationship with the local school, Cooranbong Public School, in which we regularly attend their social events and support our Preschool Children to transition to school as smoothly as possible. 

Our fees are inclusive of nappies, sun cream, wipes, milk for rest bottles, and all meals. Lunch is made externally and delivered fresh each day by Kids Gourmet Food and consists of a hot lunch. We provide morning and afternoon tea, with fruit and snacks available between meals to cater for children’s changing requirements. We provide meal alternatives to cater for children with differing dietary or allergic needs. You will only need to provide a bag with spare clothes, a broad brimmed hat and water bottle.
