Our 112 place early learning centre on the Australian National University (ANU) campus in Canberra. The building is conveniently located on North Road, Acton at the northern entry point to the University and adjoining Willows Oval.
The centre will provide much-needed early learning and care for families of ANU staff, students and locals.
Naturally inspired, age-based learning spaces will provide care for children from six weeks to 5 years old and will be open from 7.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
The architecturally designed, single-level building provides direct access to the outdoor play spaces. There are two custom designed separate play areas – one for nursery aged children and one for 2 to 5 year olds – providing age-appropriate, play-based learning.
Our Preschool Program aims for the right mix of fun, structured learning and physical activity. Delivered by tertiary qualified Early Learning Teachers in a safe, nurturing environment where the child’s experience is paramount. The formal parts of the Goodstart Preschool Program are offered within the long day care hours, offering greater flexibility and convenience for working families and students.
Convenient drop off and pick up zones are located right outside the entrance and pram and bike storage is available within the centre.
A healthy and nutritious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are provided by a qualified cook in our commercial kitchen on-site. We can accommodate all dietary requirements.
All nappies, wipes and sunscreen are included in your daily fee.

When every moment counts, make them Goodstart moments.
Hello families, my name is Sally and I joined Goodstart ANU as Centre Director in June 2024.
I chose the Early Childhood profession as I am passionate about providing inclusive environments with the best quality care and education in those crucial first five years of brain development.
I have been working with Goodstart for 13 years and have built strong relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the local communities.
Working as an educator for many years before becoming Centre Director allowed me to build my leadership skills, knowledge and to develop a deep understanding of what families and children need, and how best to support their diverse needs.
